I was in with the CYPHER Phreeks back then and it was so flipping fun figuring out the puzzles.
I have some crazy stories.
One of our guys was arrested for a LSD distribution thing at a major US University. Got access to the Gov Issued LSD-25 & LSD-38 making a blend and then sold it around.
After he was rolled up we figured out his parents were legit never told about it and he was nowhere to be found.
Bout 3 days later we are throwing a house party and a black car pulls up, he hops out, all “hey! Sup guys?” Like nothing had happened.
“Where the hell were you? What’s going on?!?”
“Oh, it’s chill. They gave me a job at Sun Microsystems.”
He had to learn Java that week and then started working for Sun. Went back to school like nothing had happened. Said he couldn’t go into any details.
For sure man. He was a weird guy. Met him at a Gifted School. He was into older ladies, too, which always stuck out. Never saw him date someone under 50 ( we were late teens / early 20s ).
This was the purpose of Cicada 3301 as well.
