But sometimes I too wonder if Western Civilization can be saved by using the tenets of Western Civilization... i.e., should we go full Barbaric Medieval for a season to deal with the counter-culture that is pledged to destroy us? ...that does not play by the same rules as we do? As our history has shown, from the ancient Greeks to the religious wars of Europe to the world wars in the last century, nothing would have rescued Western Civilization except for brute force.

I'm not sure if you listened to the link to dark journalist, but taken in the context of the conversation about Putin, the headline of this post makes sense and in no way implies that the populace of w. civilization hates anyone. What it helps explain are the differences in values and motivations of the powers that are colliding.
