Elon is more of a libertarian than anything. But he also knows that AI and tech in general is going to go a certain way so that is why he gets in those circles. I think he figures "if things are going to go this way and I cannot stop it, at least I can get in the middle and try to steer it." At least that is how his actions and behavior look to me.
I don't think Elon is evil. If anything he is chaotic neutral for the D&D fans out there.
I don't think he's evil either. You're description makes a lot of sense.
Definitely evil to me. Especially considering he’s pioneering brain micro chips and AI-human intelligence hybridizations, no one else is running human test trials or had development that far along yet. Those companies already working on it or have patents aren't going to change the functionality/directive of their invention, tech isn’t really a ‘steerable’ field. Not to mention he is a global warming sham fanatic... And he himself identifies as a socialist.
Damn you with your facts xir!!!
Elon admitted that he was for socialist healthcare, but freedom loving capitalist for everything else on the particular subjects of trade and healthcare. While the two are currently one, he appears to be more split on the matter of being partial with constitutional freedom of trade and socialistic healthcare. I would say it's more akin to being agnostic - sitting on the fence.
He reminds me more of a centrist John Jacob Astor IV than a Nikola Tesla (The two being significant friends).
Edit - Adding sources for Elon's comments on this matter:

No mention of healthcare here. https://nitter.net/elonmusk/status/1008013111058526209?s=21&t=sLvI2fZrsULZUI4e5RArPQ
He is evil, but he's playing for our side now (he has no choice).
Neutral natural is my take. The chaotic just stir the pot for the sake of stirring the pot. Elon seems to want the good guys to win. The Neutral neutral prefers good neighbors.
source?
"Just not the kind that shifts resources from most productive to least productive,"
He qualified the statement. The socialism you are accusing him of is what he literally said he is against. I argue he is not a socialist but uses the term for lack of a better one.
"True socialism seeks greatest good for all."
Which isn't socialism...
55 chaotic, can't do business if more chaotic. But he could have a good or evil tilt and still be neutral.
