It's just like handing over the West's weapons, ordnance, and materiel in Afghanistan, only this time we're handing it to Russia. You have to wonder why the left is doing this?
Antonov always has been a Ukrainian company. They have been producing airplanes for a long time. Besides that the company operates a cargo business.
Shortly before the start of the conflict at least some of their planes were transferred out to Germany. The An-225 did not make it, because management did not deem it that urgent.
I am no expert on these planes, but I think this is an An-124. Obviously in Ukrainian livery.
Antonov is a very large Ukrainian airline.

"Antonov" in this instance is a Ukrainian airline.
Antonov is headquartered in Kyiv.
Right, and Kiev is now owned by Russia.
Did Russia move Antonov's headquarters? I hadn't heard this.

Anyone can lease a big cargo plane, a big Russian one is a lot cheaper than a Boeing or Airbus cargo plane.
