Sammy was a good boy at heart...we had to put him down due to a lot of sudden medical complications. It started with cushions disease, then back problems, and then his front legs sustained injury which caused them to be hollowed out .
I write this asking for prayers, and to shed light on tyranny of the animal care system. It really is no better than how horrible our human health care system is. All these drugs and treatment to help our precious pets are insanely expensive. Only those with wealth are able to allow their pets a second chance at life. I know Sammy would've recovered and had at least 2 more years if we were able to afford the treatment. He had the spirit and energy to move around, just didn't have the body... I also noticed some suspicious behavior from the staff. I don't believe they're nefarious by any intent, but I could sense a level of incompetence, or neglect from them. I don't know how to explain, but it didn't feel right. I don't think I'll go back to them...but despite that we did what we had to do, and we did everything we possibly could to help our dog.
I pray too, that the collapse of this wicked evil in our world will help not just us humans, but as well our furry families.
And thank you all for fighting the good fight in this information war.
Godspeed fren. Have put down many pups over the years. Each one gets harder for me, my GSD almost 3 years ago can bring me to tears. Now I have a Mal and she is part human, an incredible animal and wonderful companion. Not saying rush out and get another dog....but it helps the process. Stay strong.
A person that is incapable of loving a pet is also incapable of being loving towards other people. I have always been suspicious of people that do not have animals in their lives. Our pets add so much to our lives that is impossible to convey this to people devoid of such relationships. I just can't imagine life without our furry friends. The losses are hard - but going through life without the love they give is even harder.
100%. I don't trust anyone that doesn't like dogs or that my dog doesn't like.
I trust my animals when it comes to people they don't like. They can sense things on levels we can't access. You are right. People I have known in my life that don't like animals are generally not nice people and I prefer to keep them at a distance.
Doesn't mean he dislikes dogs.
Some people live in homes (apartments or condos) where only service animals are allowed. They would have a pet if they could. Others are trying to keep themselves together and don't have the means to provide for a pet properly. But we all can volunteer at an animal shelter and socialize with animals, so you have a point.
Truth....
I understand there are circumstances that prohibit some people from having pets. I should have specified that the person I had in mind was one that even if given the opportunity, chooses not to have animals. Some of these people don't even have a house plant. Their environments are devoid of anything living except themselves. This is more like the person I was referencing.
OK ! makes perfect sense.
Trump doesn't have any pets.
I can't speak to the personal reasons why he doesn't have pets. I am mostly referencing people that I personally interact with and can see for myself their characters. But, the fact that I have not known the man to have pets - at least I have never seen a picture of him with a beloved pet - is a concern that I cannot ignore. It does say something about his personality.
How much do we really know about people that are public figures? They project images that may not reflect their real selves. Trump is no different and in some ways even more so. He is his own brand that brand existed long before he became president. His brand and image is carefully shaped and molded for public consumption. So, I take it all with a huge grain of salt.
Currently. He used to as I understand it.

The only evidence I could find of him ever "having" a pet. But maybe you have found something more substantial to back that he used to have one? For me, the absence of a pet is not a determining factor when it comes to someone's merit or trustworthiness.
Got my first dog, a beautiful Border Collie mix, “late” in life(when I was in my 30’s). After she got sick and passed, we didn’t even want to walk in the house anymore. We rescued a shelter dog within a week and had no regrets. I believe that getting another is a must.
We got our first dog as a family when I was 52, what joy we would have missed if Ididn't get our dog. Really can't be without one now, they are such loving creatures.
We are the same way, we will always have a dog. Actually have three now, a 1 1/2yo, 4y and a 16y that we got when she was 7. She doesn’t get around like she used too but she is happy, eats, drinks and has good “bodily functions”👍
Yes agreed…. You just have to let it all fall into place and it will happen.
