I saw a premier of "2000 Mules" on 5/2 with a dozen people in my local patriot posse. Despite D'Souza having great intentions, the man is simply a lousy film-maker. I've seen all his movies and none of them have impressed me. "2000 Mules" is no different, despite hoping for a better movie this time around since it was such compelling subject matter.
Sadly, I give this film an "EPIC fail" rating. And at $20 per ticket, nobody on earth is going to see it besides die-hard Trump supporters who already know that the 2020 election was stolen. The vast majority of this film is people sitting around talking to one another - not showing the DATA and EVIDENCE (which was SUPPOSED to be the entire point of the movie).
There's precious little evidence shown in the whole movie beyond what's already revealed in the teaser trailers. Some of the ballot-stuffer mule video footage even looked like 're-enactments' because of the numerous camera angles and edits - instead of legit footage (and it's not even spelled out that it's a re-enactment - which hurts the credibility of the real footage shown). Very, very disappointed - although not at all surprised.
After the movie, our dozen patriots hung out in the lobby and discussed the movie. All of us were in complete agreement that this movie is a colossal missed opportunity. And even worse, with so much hype about it, expectations are likely even higher - and it doesn't deliver. At all. IMO, save your money.
I thought it deserved its own post after replying to others promoting it. The ticket price is $20 and that's a lot for a movie that sucked. But feel free to go see it - nobody's stopping you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And having previously worked in the TV/film industry in L.A., I have a more trained eye than most people.
I don't know about that, but it's definitely not something that is going to earn him points and will instead do the opposite.
The phrasing in particular is condescending and arrogant.
I stopped reading at "[worked in] L.A."
That being said, I'm not 100% discounting ops opinion. We have seen PLENTY OF FAKE KRAKENS so I'll watch it and make up my own mind and if there are any actual krakens I will be moderately surprised.
I was asked a direct question in a reply regarding my opinion on a particular scene in the movie that I said looked like a re-enactment. Emphasis on "looked like." That is the reason I spelled out my "credentials" on the subject. Here is that exchange for your reference:
Dernoddle 5 points 1 day ago +11 / -6 You say "footage even looked like 're-enactments'" and then charge that they did not spell it out that they were re-enactments. Do you have proof that there were re-enactments, or is this just your opinion?

Sorry, but working in the industry is not a badge of honor, pedo.
Not everyone in the industry is a pedo - For example: There's Rob Schneider, Kevin Sorbo, and ...Okay, that's all I could think of.
Actually, I left the industry and L.A. in my 20s because it was full of nasty people.
I’ve seen just as many movies as you without working in the industry. STFU
But you're not watching movies with a "trained eye" so your opinion does not count./sarc
I’ve trained my eye to catch deception. I’ve also read 10-15 books on making movies.
The "/sarc" at the end was there to convey that I was being Sarcastic. My comment was intended to ridicule OP, not you. I once watched a movie about reading books about making movies, does that count?
