A baby bluebird fledgling I found in my front yard. Hope he survives. I noticed his parents hovering and left him alone.
Awww, so cute. But did he fall out of his nest?
Aww, thanks. I hope the little guy will be okay. OP did say the parents were hovering around.
I'm such a softy for these guys. I would spend a week trying to raise it and be crushed when it inevitably expires.
Just feed them with tweezers and fishing bait from any fishing store. Bloodworms, bugs - anything will do. Then put them back in their nest asap.
In my experience the mother won't accept it and will just push it back out of the nest. ymmv. I raised a double yellow headed amazon parrot from a chick. Some wild animals just won't have the will to live in our care.
Beautiful baby! Aren't God's creatures magnificent?
He's beautiful!
its smol birb
I think this baby fell out of the nest. Just put him back in again.
I pulled a gorgeous little blue bird out of my wood stove box yesterday. Guess he thought it would make for a good nest on top of the stove pipe, then went down the black hole. Luckily I heard him scratching. When I went to grab him he just gave me the death look and let me take hold. He probably thought he was done for. Was kinda sad. Quickly went outside and let him go. He’s fine.
Blue birds bring me so much happiness. I’ve always got mealworms and a box pointed to the East waiting for them.
