My based Polish neighbor has been telling me the Poles would welcome the Russians in with open arms, especially because the government isn’t doing anything about the nazis and they feel stuck in NATO. This sounds like an equally valid opinion through.
Nonetheless, there is still a large distaste with Russians based on how they treated Pols (military and civilians alike) during WW2. This ultra conservative population of pols is few and far between. Most pols are post communism right leaning normies who remember the stories about Russia during WW2, and dislike Ukrainians alike, but rather stand with Ukrainians as the civilian population there is being effected. It’s a severe uphill battle and we will directly suffer if this is the case
Also, Poland was getting the short-end of the stick with the Nordstream 2 pipeline if I remember right. Lots of reasons for a regular Poland citizen to be negative towards the Russians. Russia doesn't benefit Poland in multiple ways and they look like much more of a threat to Polish sovereignty than Ukraine.
Can confirm, all of my Polish relatives whom I would generally consider very conservative are anti-Russian. These people lived through WW2 and communism, no way would they ever in their lifetimes accept the Russian military, regardless of intentions, in Polish territory without a fight, never again.
I'm glad to hear this...several years ago when I visited my family there in the north, they HATED Germans and Russians. They learned to speak German/Russian in their schools because "you have to learn the language of your enemy." I'm glad to see that some Poles realize Russia is not the same as USSR or Stalin, Lenin, etc.

Same scenario in the Baltics. Long held resentments (justifiably) yet EU MSM is pouring gas on this fire within the normie spectrum.
Problem has only gotten worse this year.

They still hate Germans and Russians.
Other than Ukraine, there might not be a country on earth that hates Russia more than Poland.
Not too long ago Putin had the Polish President assassinated in a plane crash.
President and most of his cabinet as well on the same plane.
