not Q related (sorry lol) but thanks to my life situation (which is admittedly a result of poor decisions on my part) I'm pretty much locked up inside the house. I can't even get my driver's license until at least sometime in june, and until then I have nothing to do, nowhere to go, and I'm bored out of my mind. I'll admit I don't really agree entirely with christian beliefs, but I still want to understand it better and maybe volunteer if possible, but I haven't even set foot in a church in like 15 years now and I have no idea what to expect or even what to do, or even if I should, so if anyone could give me advice or something I'd be most grateful :P

Christian fellowship is one of the most important aspects of being a Christian. Not all churches are equal too, so just keep that in mind... Some don't preach what the bible is actually telling us. So pray for discernment when seeking out a church. I would start by getting a King James version bible and start reading it, going through it, and listening to what God is telling you, praying for understanding along the way. I come from a Lutheran church myself, but there's other churches that preach the truth as well. The main point is that if you believe Christ is your savior and He died on the cross for our sins, rose again from the dead on the third day, and descended to heaven to sit at the right hand of God till judgement day arrives, then you will be saved. Baptism is also important. It's your spiritual rebirth into the Kingdom of God through water. Another note is the importance of partaking of the body and blood of Christ in remembrance of what He did, and as a time to repent and thank Him for his noble sacrifice. It's a lot to take in I know lol. I was raised in a Christian family so it's like second nature to me. Anyway, I'm glad I can formally welcome you into the family! We're happy to have you my beloved fren 😁
I second this and suggest that you start right here

I have one already but thenks kek
God will be with you if you ask you dont need a building to make it happen
Exactly, we are the church - living stones. Most are just pious social clubs with holy entertainment. Haven't been near one for years. As Derek Prince said years ago: they don't stop the rot, they just slow down the process like a refrigerator. Lot of good sermons and Bible studies by Dr Randall Smith on YT.
Revelation 3:20 KJV Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
All the people who love to crap on attending church are just as egotistical and full of themselves as your average holy roller who's at church every week and thinks they're better than their neighbor. There is absolutely nothing wrong with attending a church, as long as you find one that is traditional and focuses on God rather than one that tries to keep up with the ways of the world.
Personally, I'm searching for a church right now for the first time in years because I've realized that I need other people to keep me focused and on the straight and narrow, at least as I start over. I strayed from God for a long time and doing this on my own is a struggle. A church with good, honest fellowship is a blessing to people like us. Just avoid the big, political churches or megachurches (or churches with big bands), and you will probably find a nice group of people.
You might want to try a nice local Calvary chapel. They teach the Bible chapter by chapter, and verse by verse. That way things that are uncomfortable get tight no matter what. Also they don’t always have a bunch of big bands either. Best of wishes to you
We usually looked for a Calvary Chapel when traveling and we attended many all over the countrry. Skip Heitzig was a treat because we listened to him on radio.
Yeah they’re generally pretty decent churches. Some of them and got pretty big, and I tend to stay away from those. But I was raised up in my Christianity on it, and I’ve gained so much knowledge by the teaching they do chapter by chapter verse by verse.
I've been going a Calvary Chapel church for almost 20 years now. Our paster is rock solid teaching verse by verse. I've grown quite a lot there.
Get a Bible and start reading it. Start with the book of John. Then go through Matthew, Mark & Luke, Acts, Romans etc. There are many resources available to learn God's Word. I use GTY.ORG. for my individual topical studies. Don't delay 2 Corinthians 6:2 says "Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
I love the book of John. John 14 is my favorite.
John 14:6!
Going to church can be good, but finding a good church is hard when they are 99% Pharisees...
Matthew 23, alive and well even today. A lot of people don't realize that, when you believe in Jesus Christ, He resides in your heart. You don't have to go find Him, recite any mumbo jumbo, eat any bread or worship any idols. He's there, knocking on the door.
Amen
Also do not dismiss miracles as coincidence. I have seen people explain away things that are impossible as oh, it's just a coincidence. Like the George Floyd mural being destroyed or the protest that was going to break into the white house and drag Trump out, that night there was an unforcasted lightning storm. And that was the storm that the photographer caught the Q lightning.
Dude... People will tell you to read the bible or join a church to start. The best advice I got on my path was to start with reading C.S. Lewis "Mere Christianity".
Here's a quote about the book which I liked (because I'm too lazy to do a write up myself =P)
After that, go and look for a church that fits you best. They can vary greatly... Find a pastor you click with and whom you can ask questions openly to and see how they respond.
Personally I found smaller churches to be more energetic and interesting.
If you do decide to join a church, before you pick one, check out its website and read about their teachings/beliefs. Please find a Bible believing, Bible teaching church. Make sure they have solid Biblical doctrines. Most churches these days are very lost and don't even believe the Bible.
No better advice than this^^ These people have a locator for just such a church.

I would recommend finding a Calvary Chapel in your area. They teach the Bible chapter by chapter verse by verse. In so doing, you’ll be educated and be able to make a decision whether you want to accept Christ into your heart. I highly recommend a men’s fellowship. This way you could have other like-minded believers, and that you could ask questions too, and find answers to watch been on your mind.
Purchase a Bible. Read it every day. Read one Proverbs, and one psalm. Meditate on those things. Also start reading the Bible. You could start in the book of Matthew and read through the first testament within 4 to 5 months if you read 4-5 chapters a day
Perhaps the Lord has gotten you to a place where are you right now, to finally humble yourself and look towards him. I guarantee you that having him in your heart will change your life completely. It won’t be perfect and easy all the time, but the peace and the joy that you have will be something that you’ve never experienced before. God bless you and best of wishes to you. .
Yes. Please find a local Catholic Latin Mass parish! You won't regret it. Just ask if you can talk with a priest.
I don't see why not, its a lot better than a lot of other activities, volunteering will give you focus and hope for the future. Talk to the pastor there saying you would like to know more about Christ and another thing... pray.
The more you pray the more it works, ask and you shall receive.
I think you would like if you wanted to start on line JDFarag.org - he gives prophecy updates that would stand up to the GWA scrutiny. https://www.jdfarag.org/ He is great, but the in person worship is much better. I have been going to non denominational Christian church and it helps so much with perspective. Satan works on me on Sunday mornings, but then I get there I am so glad I went. :)
If you don’t feel comfortable going try online church first. Find a community that works for you I’ll recommend mine.

Definitely yes. You need to get out of the house, and I guarantee it's a healthier habit than a lot of other things. Volunteering is also a great thing to do. Low commitment in the beginning, you can always stop church or volunteering. Just do it. If you get bad vibes, find a better church. Blessings.
Here's something, I agree with you about the Catholic faith. Same goes for AA or NA meetings. I got more out of rehab than I ever did from going to church every Sunday and reciting lines. I would never tell anyone to they have to agree with everything preaced in an AA or NA meeting, some of the group think I belive can be harmful. but you can gain some great insight into yourself and understand how your brain works to bring you down and back into old habits. Once I understood how the addicted brain steam rolls the thinking brain a lot more of my ways made sense, I knew why I had bad habits and it wasn't because I was weak. Not only with substance addiction but everything else that lead me to errant ways of life. Try a meeting somewhere and listen to other people's stories even if they don't match your situation, at least you won't feel so alone and know others that face similar challenges.
Church is important but knowing God comes first. You should consider writing down what you don't agree with and why and try to have a conversation with people about those points. Bring them to church with you.
As you are not a christian (excuse me if I'm wrong, that's the impression I get) I'm reluctant to advise you to find a biblical church because frankly I'm not sure you would know what that is. I'll also say alot of churches will not allow non christians to volunteer for them.
Put bluntly I think you should seek God first and fellowship second.
Listen, I never grew up in a religious family, we never went to church. It wasn't until I was going through some major depression and I realized a relationship with God was my only way out. I personally chose to go to a Church and for me it was so helpful. My pastor is based and I have met some very lovely people. I was studying the Bible on my own and now I do both. Knowing God has been the best thing that has ever happened to me. Your relationship is not with a religion or a Church it is with God. If you find a good church it is a wonderful experience.
can you tell me a bit about what your first experience with church was like? can you as some random guy just walk unannounced and be welcomed? I literally know nothing about church because the last time I went to church was when I was so young I didn't even understand what it was.
I was nervous as well because I didn't know much myself. They were very welcoming. I starting going to Church in late January. While, I was reading the Bible on my own, I thought I could use some help. I belong to a group that is a Right to Liberty group and the pastors wife was there. We happened to be talking about how religion has been infiltrated and how people were leaving their church because of the mask mandates. The pastors wife spoke up and said her Church was a good church and no masks. So I started going there about a week or two later. So, this is what I did. I sat in the back of the church and observed. Things are on a tv monitor so you can recite the prayers along with everyone and when we sing its displayed on the monitors. When they say stand I stand, when they say sit I sit. You do get the hang of it. My church is very small and quaint. Work on your relationship with God, talking to him at home, it may feel awkward at first and you may wonder "am I doing this correctly," but that soon goes away. You got this.
thanks for the advice
I hope it helped.
Absolutely yes.
Yah! Lookup what churches around you do BSF. They start you in small groups and you read a chapter of the Bible a week. That’s an easy way to get involved in a church without getting too involved. https://www.bsfinternational.org/
Yes goto church, nice casual clothes and show up just be fore the start and sit in the back.
That's were the new people hang out.....
#1. How do you think the world came into existence? If God, go to #2....If not, read the children's book Yellow and Pink by William Steig #2. Do you believe that the empty tomb on Easter Sunday is a historical fact? If not, think more about the behavior of the apostles and what you know about other humans. #3. Go to church
First I learned about the various denominations on line. The ones that struck at my heart I listed, maybe 5. Then I shopped around those again not to hear what I wanted to hear but who seems more spiritual. On one of these visits I felt 'charged up' spiritually and remember saying 'wow, so THIS is what its like to pray'. So I joined that church.
If you are asking I would say thats your answer right there.
You can "attend" church at home. Many churches stream their services. It's a great way to see if a church's message speaks to you without making any commitment.
When you find one that you like, find out when they may be doing a welcome session and go meet.
YES
My local one has a Ukrainian flag prominently displayed outside. So want to spray a swastika on it.
Could that church be Ukrainian catholic or Ukrainian orthodox? They are traditional conservative bible-based churches, not at all like Roman Catholic. Check them out before you get out your spray paint.
