She recently moved to LA. About 5 months ago. She laughed at me when I told her she's making a mistake and that she should stay close to family here in MA (not that we are that much better than California).
Now her brothers are all pretty based patriots as is her father. Her mother is old school non-feminist type. Unfortunately for her, the school system turned her into a leftist during her teenage years.
She drove to NYC to attend BLM rallies and everything. Was right in the middle of the riots in Brooklyn recording everything.
She's no rioter herself and she's a soft little white girl but up until recently, she thought she was some sort of freedom fighter.
Anyway, she gets to LA and at first was sending me all these beautiful pictures of the landscape as she went to trips in the hills and ocean views etc.
But recently, she's been telling me about how bad crime is and she doesn't feel safe at night walking around. How it's filthy and how she's seen bums take a shit right across her street.
She lives just outside of downtown LA in some gentrified hipster area that up until prior to covid was apparently really nice and clean. But now, it's being overrun by homelessness and degeneracy.
So she calls me last night asking me how she can purchase guns in LA quietly. Now I have no fucking clue how so I told her to google it and suggested she get out of LA and find a gun dealer in a based red area to help her out with an AR15 she can use.
She then went on a rant about how disgusting everything and everyone is and how she can't wait for her contract at work to be done so she can, and I quote, "escape this fucking hell hole".
I assume she's gonna come back based af lol
Downtown LA has been in the hands of the demons for decades. One of the creepiest places I've ever been to. The bad mojo is palpable...
I'd suggest she not invest in PMs until she can first get out of that environment. As discrete as the bullion dealers are with shipping labels, I wouldn't doubt if there are some UPS/FedEd/Postal delivery people that know how to spot a box of silver/gold. And if she wanted to buy a decent quantity of silver (say 200 ounces+), there's almost no way to hide it. The idea that some girl living in gentrified LA is buying a 25+ pound box of "ball bearings" ain't gonna fly...thus making her a crime target.
If she's got the cash to buy big quantities and can't get out of LA for several months, I'd suggest she look into temporary 3rd party storage. I'm a much bigger fan of "if you don't hold it, you don't own it", but 3rd party storage is better than not owning any PMs at all. SD Bullion both sells and offers storage options as well. Mike Maloney at goldsilver.com also has some interesting storage options. Both of which are better than not owning anything at all.
But I would not advise her shipping big orders of silver to her gentrified apartment. She could get away with doing this with gold however as even a 10 ounce purchase (~$20,000) can be shipped discretely. The only downside is that gold isn't going to have the ultimate bounce that silver is going to have one day.
I'd be worried about buying from LCSs in downtown LA as well, especially if I were a woman.
Net-Net - Short term 3rd party storage if she wants silver, or small direct gold purchases would be okay.
Her desire to buy pm's is based on me telling her to buy pm's for years. She's just in a state of disarray realizing her belief system leads to human feces on the side walk in the end.
Her desire to buy a gun is real but even that is just as a result of the same realization.
What she's actually gonna do is research and when she decides to buy something, I'm going to tell her to forget about it and just buy when she comes home with the money she's saved for it there.
I just found it hilarious and simultaneously sad that it's come to that point.
Had to go into Boston last week. I went to college there so I know the city pretty well but haven't been in Southie in 15+ years. Got off the southeast express way and immediately drove right into a homeless tent encampment. It went on for 3 blocks with police cars monitoring from both ends. 7:30 in the morning there were hundreds of people shuffling about, tweaking, sleeping on the curb and several hunched over poking at random things in the gutters.
Something DRASTICALLY changed in the past 10 years as I remember only occasionally seeing someone sleeping at Ruggles T station or Back Bay when I lived there. 😢
Yea it's actually a lot like Kensington Ave in Philly if you are familiar.
Yes! My wife showed me videos of Kensington last year, but I never imagined Boston was just as bad. 😲
Fire arms advice - a nice 9MM carbine should do the trick - I hear you can blow peoples lungs clean out with one of those.
I hear the JR carbine is a nice one.
Ruger PC carbine - just as capable of blowing out lungs but not as scary looking.

On the cheaper side, she could get a Hi-Point - bonus - WHEN it jams, these bad boys make very effective clubs.

Ah, gotcha. No doubt getting out of dodge should be her #1 priority. But time is getting short on PM ownership before they become unaffordium and unobtainium! The COMEX is now below half of registered silver it was before the apes got organized. That took about 18 months. I think the next wave happens in 6 months or less.
But who knows, the cartel has more tricks up their sleeves than we can imagine...
I got stuck in LA for two weeks. When I finally drove out of town I was caught in a rare torrential downpour.
That's when I discovered that the windshield wipers, on the chosphop car that I had just purchased, did not work.
Instead of taking it back, I floored it and drove with my head out the window to get away from that demonic place.
haha that's amazing lol
