this is why we homeschool!!! we looked at one daycare and after 10 minutes realized that this was a huge mistake..... sick kids penned up crying... snot everywhere.... totally disgusting and this is was in an expensive area of town. none of our kids had one day in daycare. we lived on one income just fine... made some adjustments and never looked back. it's sad to see how many parents treat their careers with more love than they give their own kids. you can get pissy with my sentiments if you want... sometimes the truth hurts... I can just hear all the "but, but, buts" out there... sadly, careers and income push the children down to tier 2 status.
thank you!! It wasn't too hard, but totally worth it! we did forego some of those vacations that we "deserved".... never went to disney (thank God)... we had a great time being parents and not just providers.
Daycare can have value if you have someone in your community you can trust to watch over the children and make sure they are all okay.
Socializing your kids is very important to their social growth and confidence around people and a variety of situations. Also, it helps them have a friend group which is invaluable, even if most won't stay with them.
yes socializing your kids is great. it doesn't require day care. neighborhood kids. brothers and sisters. loving family. church....all are much better than parking your kids for hours with people you don't really know.
