The First Unitarian Church is not a Christian Church - it's more like a religious holding cell for former Christians that have lost their faith but don't want to let go of the social aspects of attending religious services. I've been a few times with a friend that was a member - a very strange experience to be sitting in "church" and hearing people having a very open discussion about the benefits of being agnostic and the virtues of secularism.
What their "Religion" is based on, in their own words:
https://www.uua.org/beliefs/what-we-believe
“Kanter organizes the trips along with other clergy members. Five years ago he helped found a multi-faith chaplaincy team, made up of Christian and Jewish clergy, to provide counseling to women at an abortion clinic in Dallas."
"reproductive care."
But he's unitarian. They're not Christians.
You are absolutely correct. Unitarian not Christian.
A special place, for that one!
Apostasy
Of course the First Unitarian Church would do this
“It's so central to our faith to care for people, so it's no surprise that clergy were part of the group helping people get abortion care," Zeh told Insider.
