What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
I recently got into fragrances and even while being disciplined, I have been getting pretty trigger happy with my purchases 😆
Versace Eros, Versace Eros Flame, Acqua di Gio Profumo, YSL Kouros, Victor Rolf Spicebomb Extreme, YSL Y edp, YSL Y le perfum, Club de Nuit Intense Man, and I keep adding more.
But it feels good to smell good 🤷♂️
Now this is a ln oldschool daily thread! Lol the comments.
I personally don't mind fragrances, my wife doesn't like them so I'm lucky and saving money.
You found something you like that makes you happy. Good on you.
Only thing I would agree with that is "negative" here is I'd personally avoid cabal owned perfumes. I feel strongly about avoiding the cabal. Very strongly.
WWG1WGA
You do know who owns those companies? Cosmetics, fashion, entertainment- sex trafficking...
Could be, but you'll be hard pressed to enjoy many things that don't have some fucked up shit somewhere along the way.
It's easy to get ethically sourced and natural essential oils, herbs and flowers to make your own scents.
This is true.
Hey to each their own, I don't soak myself in them, they project a bit depending on time of year, strength, molecule size, concentration, but I've gotten nothing but compliments and no faces of disgust of any sort (I kept an eye out early on to make sure I wasn't being an inconvenience).
I get what you're saying though, no one likes intrusive strong scents that make you hack up a lung.
But in that case say something, don't just seethe in internal rage. People go nosebleed to their scents and he may not have even realized he was overapplying. Or he was a deuce, but if you don't say something, nothing changes.
It's a daily talk thread where people just shoot the ahit about things they like and what's going on in their lives. You're coming in here with a pretty shitty attitude, dude.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Those are good! Any Tom Ford on the list? Tuscan Leather is amazing!
I love Tom Ford but I limit myself to a top of $120 a bottle and I really REALLY have to love the scent. My YSL Y le parfum cost about 120 after real bargain hunting, and I kind if regret it. Love the scent, fell in love with it using a tester on a strip, but the thing is a skin scent, has no projection. Also, it doesn't last too long.
I just ordered the Y eau de parfum version whose formulation is supposed to be very very long lasting and projects like a beast.
I found the 10pml for 89 bucks plus tax which is obscenely cheap from a highly rated ebay seller. I know the tells of an authentic, so when it comes in I'll see if it is. I also found great deals on r/fragranceswap on new in box bottles of my kouros and spicebomb extreme. They have a lot of niche and higher end stuff for sale. I did get scammed by one user because I drunk ordered and didn't realize he had been banned and didn't comment on my post, rather messaged me directly.
Users there have a flair that tells you how many sales/purchases they made so you can more easily trust, and if they don't comment on your [WTB] (willing to buy) post, they are likely banned and cannot comment so that should have been a red flag.
But drunk me got anxious, saw a great deal, paid $200 for 3 lightly used bottles (chanel parfum, Jean Paul Gaultier Ultra Male, and YSL Y edp)
Haha you can sniff out the fakes! Good job on the deals, its always great when you can get a great scent at a great price!
There are often awesome videos on YouTube showing you key details in the originals that even really good fakes lack. From the cardboard paper, to the text placement on the image, to seems or texture on the cap, etc.
This is a great example:

With that I'll likely be able to tell before even removing the package wrapping :)
Don't know why the downvotes, the fiat money is worthless anyways might as well buy some good juice. any downvotes are filthy baby noses who don't get it.
FRAGRANCE never loses its value, Fragrance is one of the oldest arts and people used to brave the wilderness and fight battles for fragrance.
Check eBay values of old used Chanels and even old celebrity department store fragrance. I'd love a nostalgia bottle of With Love Hilary Duff but a used bottle from 2006 will cost me almost $100 if it's real. And that was originally a $30-40 teen fragrance of all things.
Your fragrance taste is more traditionally manly than mine but give Eau de Memo and Memo Inle a shot. They're unisexes but they smell like nothing I've ever smelled before. Absolutely divine and worth every dollar.
My wife and I have been on a real fragrance journey lately and I love both the ones only she can pull off and all the fragrances we can share. Recently bought her Kayali Utopia Vanille, Chanel Coco EDT, and Carolina Herrera Very Good Girl Glam and I looove every second she wears them..it's a rush to be around her
"She smells like vanilla" or "She is the flower"
Hey dude. I figure, unless you're into fragrances specifically, people will think it's a waste of money and it may rub someone the wrong way/seem childish. I can be that way with booze. Some people won't drink the cheap stuff. But from my eyes, I drink for effect (and my body is quite tolerant) so for me, that $12 1.75ml of "Russian vodka" made in Tennessee is a no Brainer, while some won't drink anything cheaper than $50 a regular size bottle.
They may cite taste, smoothness, etc, but to me personally it's not worth it. I figure some people will spritz on a grocery store bottle of nautica and say, "cologne is cologne" while for me I chase projection, performance, and a bit more elaborate scent in a fragrance. So I understand why someone would downvote, even in an open talk thread.
I wear my stuff for me more than anything, I'll wear stuff daily, even for walking my dog, or lounging on my couch after work, the same way I'll listen to music to please my ears. Look at a gorgeous painting/photograph to please my eyes, prepare a tasty meal to enjoy, enjoy a session of acupuncture to relax my body, or use high threadcount sheets and a comfortable bed. The olfactory scent is criminally underrated, and that $100 3.3oz bottle of fragrance is about 1000 sprays, which makes a bottle last a hell of a long time even if you apply it multiple times a day.
I also bargain hunt and check multiple sites that still deliver authentic product such as aurafragrance, worldofwatches (discount code welcomeback10 for an extra 10% off), fragrancenet (though that hasn't been the cheapest in a while) and gander a bit on shopping.google.com which searches multiple sites for the same product.
It's awesome that you can share with your wife, it's something harmless that you can enjoy together, and olfactory scent is the primary driver of memory association, like when you catch a whiff of something that brings you back to childhood in an instant.
I do have a preference to traditionally masculine scents with musk, amber, incense, smokiness, and woodsy profiles but I will definitely give the memo fragrances a shot, even if it's as a decant, those are new to me.
Versace eros has a very fresh green apple opening and base notes are Tonka bean and vanilla which are very present from opening through dry down and as the remaining skin scents that linger for hours on end. Eros flame has some spices and opens with mandarin orange instead. But they share the same DNA if you like sweet scents that can be unisex.
Which of the two memo do you prefer from which you recommended? Sorry for the long post 😅
Edit: ah those memo scents are priced like niche scents and seem to have moderate sillage and performance, definitely curious. I looked them up and they seem like something I'd spray on when I've got some time to myself and want to sit down and enjoy something. Citrus based openings like bergamot and lemon, but a fusion of masks and teas in the heart and base notes, definitely has me Intrigued.
🙄 afraid your wife might like it a bit too much.
