If Abiding by Constitutional Amendments Is Now Optional, Can We Stop Paying Taxes?

Being as the 16 amendment was never properly ratified, it would be your patriotic duty not to.

...valid observation....
We should amend the 16th amendment, to forbid the collection of federal personal income taxes, and to abolish the IRS.
...hear, HEAR!!!
Agree totally!
Why has no tax attorney ever filed suit? Is it because they would be out of a job?
It would not only threaten the attorneys job security, but it would bring into question the financial stability of the judge's cushy paycheck and fat pension as well (talk about a conflict of interest), since all civil servants feed from the hog trough of the 16th amendment.
If payroll taxes weren't already set up to automatically be taken out I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be paying. The problem is what the IRS can do to us--they get away with all their crimes, we would pay a huge price for not paying taxes, plus the penalties and jail time.
United we Stand,
Divided we Fall.
Collectivity is the key.
We hold the purse strings, they live off of our labor.
When we exclude them from our transactions, once again we will become free agents of our own destiny.
A truth often overlooked.
That is true, but how difficult would it be to get all others (united) to withhold their money from the Federal Government? I think it would be a great idea, just very, very difficult. Plus all the automated tax add-ons we really can't stop.
It's not really our money they're after, it's the products of our goods and services they want / need.
This is the key, the question is can we engage in commerce and exclude them from the exchange?
Their demand for taxes in a certain currency ensures their inclusion, think of the swift banking system and think of how Putin is by passing it.
It's even harder than you point to. If we just stop payment of taxes, they will accelerate the printing press and inflate their way to taxation.
The answer in my mind, however difficult as it must be, is to shut down the economy, threatening the "full faith" of the government financial institutions until reasonable resolutions of fiscal responsibilities and accountability are resolved.
This would be the last reasonable step to take before a revolution.
Isn't the "plan" to "tank" the economy? I thought that is part of what we here are kind of waiting for, banks to tank along with the markets. How that will fair, I can't even imagine--all the people in the markets and then they tank... Oh well, I guess we will see. I do; however, see your point. I'm not a money person or taxation type of person, but I believe what you say.
They can rob your bank account too !
Yes, they absolutely have too much power to inflict on the citizenry of our great country.
Good information, it would be nice if we acted on it and didn't have too many people similar to me--not wanting to be arrested and tyrannized by the IRS. Someone needs to start somewhere I agree, but who will be the first 80-90 million people. I didn't read all the links attached yet, but I bookmarked the article and will check them out.
I'll try not to be long winded but I feel the need to point out something VERY important about the 16th amendment. It broke the most fundamental rule of the Constitution and the founding fathers would tear us to shreds if they saw it.
One of the most important functions of the constitution is to LIMIT THE GOVERNMENT. Look at the bill of rights. It is a set of negative rights. The government can't infringe on your guns. The government can't stop you from speaking. The government must give you due process in a criminal trail etc etc.
Now look at the 16th amendment.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sixteenth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution#Text
There is NOTHING negative about it. Quite the opposite. Its a possative right. I'll reword it.
"The government can take as much of your income from you as it wants."
That's what the 16th says.
So the problem isn't the amendment passing or not etc etc. There was a REAL need for the government to have a way to acquire money to accomplish real goals. Guns for the army don't buy themselves. The problem is that there was NO LIMITATIONS added to the amendment. A simple 10% maximum might have even sufficed.
Bottom line the government printed itself a full set of blank checks to our bank accounts. Its time we put some sort of limit on that blank check. IMHO this and term limits should be the VERY VERY first things addressed once they assemble the convention of states.
...valid observations, nicely stated and framed,,,,,
Spread it around. EVERYONE needs to understand how flawed the 16th is.
,,,that is what Al Gore made the internet for...
...sharing is caring....
They just care, exactly what it is you share...
The 16th was hand written by the money changers of europe, with european money changer's interests in mind.
To even bring this bill forward was a seditious act of treason.
Laws were broken at its inception, and then every step along the way to give it the illusion of "legitimacy".
Until you reconcile that fact, nothing else matters.

Yeah, I watched a video one time(might have been Glenn Beck on Fox long ago) where they showed news paper articles from that time explaining the 16th amendment and hyping the fact that the income tax would only be 1/2% for some and so forth with a max of 1%. Even back then the media was helping the money changers fool us. Don't worry it will never be more than 1-2%.
But that is my whole point. If it is just going to be 1% then why not write a cap into the amendment. 10% is insanely high if 1% is their supposed goal. Truth is the goal all along was to raise it and keep raising it until people pushed back. Look at what congress argues about 99% of the time. Lowering or raising taxes. Its a false argument. The real argument should be taxes existence or not.
I'm offended that its even constitutionally legal to raise taxes to 100%. It doesn't matter that no one would tolerate it. It shouldn't even be possible. Congress shouldn't even have the power. Just like they don't have the power to take our guns/speech.
The fact they now ignore those limitations is an argument for another day.
Glenn Beck on Fox, the good old days.
What boils my butt is that they think they are entitled to any percentage. Certain functions have to be performed as out lined by the constitution, and those responsibility need to be financed, no more, no less...
I didn't take the government to raise like a insatiable teenager that has no comprehension of fiscal responsibility, the infinity ATM card with no limits.
There are economist who study just how much they can rob from the economy without seriously stunning it's stability, both on the left and the right.
The Laffer Curve is a good example of neoconservative thinking.
What both sides overlook, ignore and hide, the resources they steal and waste are resources the economy needs for organic growth and stability that benefits the people.
Reminds me of a bee keeper.
The bees work hard collecting nectar to make enough honey to reach a point in hive population to promote a split ie. swarm, to start a second colony ensuring bee survival.
The bee keeper keeps robbing not "excess honey" but honey needed for hive stability and growth. Keeping the bees in a constant state of gathering the necessary resources to a objective they will never reach. A life wasted in the servitude of hidden agendas.
And to add insult to injury if that's possible, the rich greatly superior honey is replaced with cheap gmo sugar water to provide "starvation rations".
Robed Reamed and Raped.
Our government ....
Sorry it took so long to respond, but your post was one i had to chew on for a while.
My Brother.
Hopefully in the next few years we will start to see some of this shit change. If not it might be time to move to the moon/mars. :)
What if it were illegal to pay taxes?
Because helping to fund a criminal organization is a criminal act.
Which would make me a criminal...
Please, someone pose that question to Pelosi and Schumer and maybe throw in RINO Mitch.
...that would take courage, something that is in very short supply among the press corps....
90% of Americans paid ZERO "federal income" tax until WW2.
Ever wonder why that is?
You can only stop paying income taxes if you are a member of the globalist elite . . . but then, they never pay income taxes anyway.
Yeah I've been not paying quarterly taxes. I may regret it.
