He said it would drop mid July, but what if that was just disinformation and it going to happen much sooner.

Supposedly they are trained to fight in mountains, using skis and surviving in the cold. If that's true, I don't see crossover into urban arresting.
I think "10th Mountain Division" is referring to the geographic area of their organization, not that they are trained specifically and exclusively for mountain combat.
10th MTN is a light infantry unit which specializes in mountain warfare, at least originally. They still do, but they train in a variety of other types of fighting including MOUT.
Correct. All light infantry train in MOUT. Matter of fact, a number of units are training in underground environments as well (think DUMBs).

If you look up the 10th mountain division, the unit, they are trained for mountain combat specifically.
And the US Marines are specifically trained for amphibious invasions on beaches but that doesn't mean they can't perform as a highly effective multirole infantry unit. They were some of the most effective combat units in urban warfare in Iraq even though they were 500 miles away from any beach or coastline. The point is if you need highly trained troops for a special purpose it's best to draw from the army's specialized units ( 101st Airborne, 10th Mountain' etc) instead of just regular units.
Fair point!
If you can kick ass at altitude, you can kick ass at sea-level.
Some Rock Lee type bullshit. Kek
Or even underground
