The reality is we need way less protein than most Americans eat. We need just a little bit of meat/fish per week and a little more other animal proteins (ie eggs, cheese) in order to get all the essential nutrients that come from solely animal products. I agree with you that Americans are killing ourselves with big quantities of animal products, particularly because we know toxins have been injected in them. Veggies should absolutely be the primary food in people's diet!
I completely disagree. Protein provides satiety. If people felt full they would eat less filler which in America equates to sugar. Veggies are the main carriers of e. Coli and other pathogens. Veggies are difficult to digest and the nutrients are not easily assimilated. Which is why vegans are either fat from all the sugar (fruit and grains= carbs)or they look like holocaust victims. Americans need to eat less. To do that they must feel full. Proteins from animals is the only thing that does that. Given my age and my height/ weight ratio. I am in perfect shape. I see a lot of overweight people that limit their meat. What kind of shape are you in? 10 lbs overweight is still overweight.
Most veggies should be cooked to kill bad organisms and to make food easier to digest.
Fat makes you feel full. Fat also adds tremendous flavor to foods. But since fat, which in its natural form is an essential nutrient (not these vegetable oils that are an unnatural, factory made form of fat) is demonized, many Americans substitute will sugar for fat to make up for the lack of flavor.
I eat a protein limited diet. Most of the foods I make are foods with a lot of veggies and a little meat or fish, like casseroles and stir Frys. Here is a picture of me. You tell me if you think I'm fat: https://gwsandiego.net/blog/.
Kidneys do not like protein. Just as the low fat/high carb craze of the 90s caused a massive diabetes epidemic in the aughts, so the current high protein craze will cause a kidney disease epidemic in the next decade. Mark my words.
I wanted to add one more thing. According to "The Perfect Health Diet" by Paul Jaminet, the reason Americans are fat is because we eat a lot of polyunsaturated fats (ie corn oil, canola oil). Your body is made up of saturated fat, so when you eat saturated fat, your body knows exactly what to do with it and the body easily eliminates it. Polyunsaturated fat is an unnatural fat and the body doesn't know what to do with it, so it stores the fat. This is a very interesting article about how Crisco infiltrated the American Medical Association and got them to endorse their vegetable oils, despite them being unsafe: http://www.wsj.com/articles/SB10001424052702303678404579533760760481486
