Ending slavery was the right thing to do. Giving free handouts and not requiring people to work and enjoy the satisfaction of accomplishment was a bad thing. It really is sad and evil what the Democrat party has done to the African American people. We tried to free them and they kept them as slaves in a mental psyop type way. No it isn't a queer day, although it became a national holiday for virtue signalling reasons. It's "Juneteenth" because in the days when news travelled slowly, people in remote areas only found out sometime in June that the civil war was over, an imprecise date.
If I remember right, back in 2020 Pres Trump scheduled a campaign rally somewhere (Tulsa?) on June 19th and the left as usual had a tantrum pretending that people outside of Texas had even heard of juneteenth, saying it was disrespectful. He rescheduled.
My employer is Texas HQ'd and even we don't have today off. However seems many of our clients took the day off so I've had hardly anything to do all morning, not even a single email.

Isn't Juneteenth a new yet official holiday dedicated to the end of slavery? Pride month has nothing to do with it afaik and pride month also isn't a real holiday / real holiday period. It's just a marketing gimmick.
When did it become a month anyway? A few years back we were passing through California at the start of Pride Week and even in that state once we got out of Sacramento to drive up to Tahoe we saw hardly a single rainbow flag for the rest of the week.
Slavery was ended over 2 years prior (January 1st 1863), by the emancipation proclamation. June 19th 1865 was the day the last Democrat holdouts in Texas had to give up their slaves, because they finally found out about it.
