I know this is a random question but ... what temp do y'all set your air conditioner at during the day and during the night?
69°F is perfect all seasons all day all night. 68°F is a bit cold and 70°F can get mildly uncomfortable. One of my friends keeps his at fucking 65°F MAXIMUM and his house is often 58°F all season long. His electric bill is insane but he's loaded and doesn't care. He claims not having legs makes him get too hot.
Well, I must live in a meat locker. It’s set to 68’ here all year round. We never change it. The wood heat helps in the winter but we keep it nice and cool in the summer. Ceiling fans in every room. We literally feel like we’re suffocating if it goes above 68’. 😂
70 and off usually (Denver area). I'd go a little higher but house is 2-story and my wfh office room is the hottest in the house in the afternoon - it gets to about 72-73 which I can work in with ceiling fan on tolerably if barely. I hate hot more than cold unless actually freezing to death.
Edit: Oh and the thermostat is downstairs - no fancy dual-zone stuff or anything. So I have a whole system of which vents are open/closed winter/summer to try to keep upstairs/downstairs more even (I probably wouldn't get another 2-story house for this and other reasons e.g. no way I'm trying to paint the thing myself, which is kind of coming due). Summer I close most downstairs registers so as to both get more cool air upstairs, and not cool the thermostat like immediately - this makes a substantial difference, like a couple degrees delta up/down vs say 5-6 or so. The worst days for this are when it's just warm enough out to require the a/c for upstairs but the ground/first floor is cool enough that the a/c doesn't want to kick on - I'll force the issue with like 68 when the office gets insufferable.
Edit 2: I've had thoughts of could I install misters for the SW walls that get hot so's to evap cool them, because I'm weird like that. I wonder how well this work but the thing is water is not cheap either....
Exactly, one major reason I've been disinclined to leave this state even though it looks like it will be one of the harder ones to rescue and may still have to...hopefully it doesn't get to that. I hate humidity with a passion and now I think it's humid when the dew point hits like 35 LOL.
73-74 24 hrs...NC ...If I had me druthers tho, It would be 68!!! But $$ becoming a scarcity!
76 during the day. 74-75 at night.
Ditto and ditto
Ditto, ditto and ditto.
Couldn't you just get a bigger air conditioner and make that 10?
One of my very favorite bits in that movie is where they are getting interviewed and it's like "what's with their lips" and you realize they all have herpes
