Ain't that the sad truth!
Solid and interesting point. I imagine this kind of parenting has been lost now as people don't seem willing to think for themselves and resist the pressure of their peers.
Can we also potentially have some sympathy for the people who did it because they weren’t in a financial position to deny it?
I know people who got vaccinated because it was the only way they were allowed in to long term care facilities in charge of loved ones. Rather than let the nursing homes kill their family members, they got the shot so they could visit and keep tabs on what was happening.
I know people who had no savings and no way to quickly get a new job to support their families, so the main breadwinner got the vaccine to keep the ship afloat.
I know people who were so effectively psy-oped from living in NYC and “passing morgue/ truck every day” that they are acting from a trauma response. Which was the government goal all along—create a traumatized people so unresourced they can’t fight back.
I feel for these people. I am just as pissed about the fear mongering and vaccine mandate BS as the rest of you, but I can’t demonize everyone for being put between a rock and a hard place.
The Nazi-esque attacks against the unvaccinated need to be atoned for if the vaccinated bought into that, but for those that did it because they were misled or not in a position to say no, I don’t view them as my enemy. I view those in charge that allowed all of this to occur as the ones who need to pay.
The irony is many of the people taking hot shots would have used this euphemism regularly.
I couldn't count how many times my mother used that saying on me when I was growing up.
Then her and my dad got the damn clot shot while me, my wife and my son are pureblooded.
Fear does bad things to people when they allow it to.
The scariest sentence in the English language... "I'm from the government and I'm here to help."
