You also do NOT have personnel in full MOPP running around in public without a whole lot of on the site, real time, news coverage explaining what's going on so you don't panic everyone, if it's just a training exercise.

And you damn sure don't have skid riders in an area where a slip and splat would be seen by civvies.

This was an "exercise" only if you call an op where some bad shit was snatched up to prevent a real bad set of days an exercise.

Happy 4th fren, and yes exactly the skid riders with dangly legs ain't on them little birds just for fun!

We did have a tom get off a cab and run the wrong way round the back of the aircraft, it was night time, they ran straight into the tail rotor. RIP.

Someone standing or sitting on the skids of a helicopter. Precarious place to be. Fikkan’s “slip and splat” reference made me think of Orlando Bloom as Todd Blackburn in Black Hawk Down.
