Not picking on you, I've seen this particular blunder quite a bit. I understand spelling mistakes etc.
When we speak with contractions with "have", it is heard as "of". It could be as you stated, educational. Could be laziness too as any language is butchered, especially when texting. Cheers!
That is so true. I myself say it where it sounds like 'would of' but I spell it as 'would have'. I don't think I have ever spelled the contractive form.
