Looking for the video of this interview. It was a big white pill back then. I only remember the chess analogy, there are two expert players, the loser can see he is going to lose in 7 moves. All he can do is prolong the game and cannot win unless the other expert player makes a mistake. It was basically NCSWIC expressed by I think two Mil intel guys. It looked like it was on VHS, low production values.
