Remind them that Democrats control the House, Senate, and the White House.
You could also bring up Kyrsten Sinema and Joe Manchin and say they're better Republicans than Mitt Romney, Lindsay Graham, and Liz Cheney and ask them if they're willing to trade them.
Good way to piss them off and end the conversation.
And yet, to them, things still aren't good because our opposition to their agenda exists. At all. Full stop.
I hear this all the time from random lefties who think "once all the evil, greedy old Republicans die, we can mold things in our image". It's more than a little alarming, and probably the biggest difference, IMO, as I feel like most of us welcome a "healthy opposition" as an essential part of politics. One that argues in good faith... Unlike the Dems.. Or the RINOs.
An "in group" literally requires an "out group" to exist as an "in group", it seems pretty basic that opposites imply one another. It's only when people don't realize this that they want to eliminate completely the group they consider to be the enemy. On what grounds will you call yourself righteous when you've killed everybody not righteous? Well, you take a page from our government and invent a new "out group" for your "in group" to kill. Having some type of opposition is very much an essential part of politics, else you find yourself in the position we are: tyranny.
The come back to that is they don't have the votes to over come the Rs because they are making everything hard. (Really?)

Exactly. It boggles the mind. I truly believe they are so programmed to hate something that red pilling them removes what they believe is their reason for existence. Classic cognitive dissonance.

I try to not be too hard on them, because there was a time I towed the R line pretty hard. THAT is what we need to get them to understand. WE hate the old guard Republicans as much as THEY do. Now, we need to get them to turn on their D masters like we did ours. It's not easy, because they have been programmed well.
