When I studied Torah with my Jewish friends, I learned that the Torah works in cycles alongside the moon.
It is believed by some, that God can give you a message through the story portrayed on that day. Events you experience can run parallel with the story, and other fun things.
Coincidence? Not sure, but it makes me believe, and its a fun game.
