No Red state would do this.
I think abortion is sick yet I would not allow a state to do something like this. The states do not own us.
The Dems are projecting what they would do.
NY tried to pass a law that said if you left the state when you retired you would still have to pay taxes to NYS for at least 10 years because you earned that retirement while working in NY.
We are spending way too much time on this issue. Men and women should have enough morals to know what is right and what is wrong. Abortions will always happen, just like men will keep obtaining weapons to to kill each other. Let it fall where it falls and quit the squabbling. The godless and selfish will have abortions and gay marriage, but they can't procreate, we win.
Constitutionally speaking, the federal govt. does have jurisdiction to enforce this law.
What I want to know, is what happens when a state [where abortion is outlawed] makes a law forbidding any kind of corporate, insurance, or charity type entity from funding travel or medical costs to individuals for the purpose of committing [illegal in that state] abortion?
In that case, I do not see how those corporate entities could legally pay for an individual to cross state lines, considering they would be funding something that is illegal. Because, the act of making that payment would be a crime within the state jurisdiction.
I may not be explaining my point very well, but I hope that anyone reading gets my point. Basically, an individual could cross state lines to commit abortion, but that individual cannot get paid by their employer, or insurance operating within the state where abortion is outlawed to do so.
I agree with you very strongly u/SuckaFree ๐๐ป
Having said that, the Commerce Clause of the US Constitution has been torn to shreds and used as a catch all to create federal dictates upon the states.
If Roe V Wade can be overturned, the Commerce Clause rulings can be too.

If it isn't in the U.S. Constitution, it isn't law. Plain and simple.
