What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
I am interested in grounding. You know walking on bare earth or sand to discharge all the electromagnetic build up from computers etc. Thinking of winter I want to buy a mat. has anyone bought a mat? What did they think?
I did read somewhere about doing it yourself .grounding the bed but can't find it it's a wire you use but that's all I remember .changing a plug beyond my technical abilities
Any thoughts?
I got a pair of leather moccasins.... I wear them at home, out in the garden, I wear them with thick socks ... the sole is really thin lol
It's a plug that goes into your wall, but only has a true prong for the ground. It's on my things to buy list. I don't remember the website. I told my son about it. He couldn't stop laughing. That's okay- I get into lots of alternative health things. :)
Based and grounded..belt and braces
Sheesh! That doesn't seem right.
But don't microwaves give off positive ions
Maybe while they're running, but otherwise if it's a three prong plug it's an excellent ground source to uncharge.
So you just touch it while its plugged in but not running?
I believe the word you want is resonance not electromagnetic. :)
They say EMF...I know computers WiFi TVs give off positive ions when we need negative ions..we get them on mountains or by the sea..makes us feel good.
I haven't heard of it being referred to as "electromagnetic", I think it's more just static build up.
I believe in the winter with types of carpet your more prone to build up a charge, may want to look at getting rid of carpet if you have it or maybe put those vinyl runners down. They may work to block against static build up.
I've seen mats, no idea how well they work but that kind of limits you to that one spot the mat is placed in. Unless you put a few throughout your house but I'd imagine they need to be grounded/plugged in to be effective.
Not to say it doesn't, but I'm not aware of a static charge building up from computer usage, typically it's more carpet, rubbing balloons on your hair, etc. If it's a desktop computer, just touch the chassis somewhere that it's bare metal, or get one of those wrist straps.
Hopefully someone else will pipe up, but after many many years of computer repair, I've never heard of static charging from computers, only worry of discharging static into computer components while working on them such as chips etc.
Stop falling prey to every bullshit quack theory that comes across the ‘net designed to sell you shit you don’t need.
If you really feel the need to ground yourself, step onto the bare earth or onto a concrete walkway. Even a momentary contact should do it. Your basement floor probably won’t do, it may (ought) to be poured on a vapor barrier.
For those skeptics, look up “Ufer ground”.
I found a DIY site but are you saying you instantly remove all build up?
Yes, you do. Concrete works as well. In the winter I just go outside in the freezing cold. I love it. I ground myself once a day. Usually find a yoga pose I like and make sure my toes are spread evenly on the ground and breath making sure to remain mindful of my connection to the ground. It doesn’t take long.
