Go to any Mexican city or large developed town and you will find coffee shops and yoga studios and American restauants. American chains especially are incredibly popular. These businesses are there because of local demand not expats.

It's not about there not already being coffee shops and yoga places. It's about who they cater to and how they are eroding the existing social fabric and economy. Californiafags setting up in Mexico cause localized price inflation in real estate and consumer goods as the massive wage difference and exchange rate advantage means they can throw around money left and right while locals are earning nothing, relatively speaking, and this reorients the economy to cater to these assholes and erases the local culture.

Mexico was beautiful in the 80s and 90s. I hear you. Zona Rosa in Monterrey had an IHOP and a Carls Jr..both way better than any of their locations here.

Except we get the Draw Four. 4 of them over our border illegally to every one of us that goes there. I'm sure that number is horribly low but Uno doesn't have a draw 25 thousand.
In all fairness, most Mexicans in Mexico are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, obey the law, and just want to live a good life. The problem is that the ones who are willing to break laws to illegally cross our border are also more likely to break other laws. This is just common sense. They do have a right to complain about a cultural shift, just like we have our right to complain. Mexico City is huge, but it's obvious certain neighborhoods are changing. Cities like Puerto Vallarta, Lake Chapala, Mazatlan are changing. Cancun and Telum have always been tourist areas and not really authentic mexico. It's an interesting topic to be honest. I just wish this topic would be taken seriously in our own country.
