Frankly I'm shocked that a letter like that was allowed out of the jail. Don't they read all the inmates' incoming and outgoing letters?
Lawyers can move confidential letters in and out I'm sure.
My dad was a prison chaplain in Pontiac, IL and in Raleigh NC. He told me then that everything got read. Once I went to a lifer picnic with him in Illinois when I was about 16. Interesting day and I'll tell that story someday when I'm positive the statute of limitations is up.
