There's a difference from lot to lot. Ingredients don't have to remain the same, and they can be in varying amounts. This is why some lots seem to be significantly more deadly than others.

Ahhh. Bad quality control.

I had heard of some extremely deadly batches that rather than pull them they mixed them into other batches, sent them nation wide, to hide the death.
