This is it right here in a nutshell... The stupidity level is just off the charts.
Governor Phil Murphy’s plastic bag ban went into effect on May 4th and since then New Jerseyeans have been trying to cope with the ridiculous inconvenience of buying a shopping cart full of plastic-wrapped goods, produce and beverages, but not being able to get a plastic bag to put all of their other plastic wares into.
And no paper bags either, which is possibly the dumbest part of all of this.
I know. Some people just use the plastic bags in the produce section to put their groceries in.
Worse than that, when I order groceries for pick up I get new reusable bags each time that I end up having to throw away 🤡
Paper bags kill trees. Plastic bag only kill fake flowers.
Yet not a single word about the billions of useless masks that have ended up in landfills and the world's oceans.
Go on line and order a roll of plastic one-use bags. The cost is about a penny a piece. Then stand in the parking lot and sell them for 5 cents each. You will sell out. I do all the time. I do it because I hate the stupid Dorkacrats and I oppose them everywhere I can.
The roll of bags is about 1000/roll.
Love it!
They always say store plastic bags aren't reusable meanwhile I see them being re-used all the time. My parents never throw those away. They always use them for other things (storage, lining wastebaskets, carrying other items to and from places)
They are probably the most recycled plastic item there is. They are great for doggie doo too.
Yes they are great for that!
Canada banned free plastic bags in grocery stores years ago, so we had to pay 5 cents per bag if we forgot our own, and now all single-use plastics and manufacturers will be banned completely by the end of this year. Our grocery stores have already gone back to paper bags but now we have to pay 5 - 25 cents per bag (depending on the store) for those. Just to carry the stuff we buy from them out of their own store.
It's a freaking nightmare, honestly. I'll be smuggling in plastic knives and forks and straws from the US. Say good bye to ziplock baggies, too. Anything you can think of will be banned. It's hard to believe that a human being can be as stupid as Trudeau is but here we are.
NJ was going to ban plastic straws so stores stopped selling them. You had to ask for one if you went to a restaurant or a fast food take out. Then stores started to sell waxed paper straws. No one was buying them so the stores went back to selling plastic straws and the state legislature did not push the ban. The whole thing is so tangled up.
Looks like Canada is practice ground for the USA. It is going to piss off people eventually to the point that it will become political.
They did the same thing in Oregon winter of 19-20 charged a nickel or dime ? for a bag, everyone bought resuable bags. Then COVID hit and they didn't want them, so back to free bags for awhile. Now they are charging for them again.
So you see it's all about the $$$ not the environment (like all the other so-called environmental measures).
In Washington all the bag money (8 cents per) goes to the state, not the store. It's a tax.
Fact.
