Being an Englishman, I can back this up. In the last year or so, the taste and smell of our mains tap water has changed. They are putting a shit load of chlorine in there. Smells like a swimming pool but obviously not as strong. I only drink bottled mineral water. But yeah, fuckery is going on for sure.
I'm in Texas, and I've been drinking bottled spring water, but last week when I ran out and before I could get to the store I drank some from the tap. My motivation for buying spring water was restored because of the surprisingly strong smell of chlorine. It didn't use to be like that. I wonder if a Big Berkey filter would be sufficient.
The two-dimensional structure of graphene allows scientists to stack sheets of it together to create the thin membrane. Mi explains that by adding oxygen to graphene to make graphene oxide, space is created in the structure for the water to flow through. One problem with this approach is that adding oxygen makes the graphene more likely to dissolve in water. However, when Mi adhered a chemical to the sheets of graphene oxide to join them together, she found the membrane stayed intact in water.
So without an extra chemical, the graphene dissolves directly in the water. Is graphene itself as bad for you as graphene oxide?
Let's not forget graphite is a chemical derivative of Graphite
The stuff pencil lead is made of.
Their atomic structures are both hexagonal, but graphene is made of graphite molecules interwoven to increase it's strength
They are putting graphene into the water supplies. At least I know they are in the UK.

I suspect they are doing the same with our water system in Texas as well,

The flouride has definately been upped in the central texas area.
Ditto here in Philly. I filter it. Reminds me I need to put in more shungite.

Ok , this is great stuff

Yes graphite is used in pencils, but it's not lead - it used to be but they replaced lead with graphite.
People still call it pencil lead out of habit I guess, it rolls off the tongue easier.
I believe when people speak of graphene they are speaking of graphene oxide chains.
I filter water to remove lead, fluoride and chlorine. I guess graphene has been added to the list.
