Personally, I think the drag queen thing has become a fad within pop culture. It has been around, but it was brought into the spotlight with tv programming, and I think it has become a type of "I did the drag queen thing, look at me" thing, with the deeper psych motive of feeling like you're contributing to peace, love, and acceptance (virtue-signaling for those genuinely repentent about being priveleged--which is stupid in and of itself, but still real--and those who have no real sense of self and are looking to be part of the herd because they cannot stand on their own.)
It's very artificial. The Leftists just want something upsetting. It's all about trying to upset the evil "other". They don't want debate. They want us upset. They want us to explode and get angry. Then they play victim and cry "those EVIL people attacked me! Imma victim!"
Drag Queens are their go-to strategy for trying to make something as upsetting as possible for social media. It's all about attention and trying to make people angry. They want you to see the Drag Queen next to children in order to upset you.
That's how narcissists think. They feel powerful and in control when you are upset.
I don't disagree. I was addressing why so many "normal" people seem so enthralled by it. And by "normal", I mean people who may or may not be lefties... they're just part of America, the melting pot and want to feel good about themselves and be super supportive of whatever their child wants to do, etc.. blah blah blah
Because many people are afraid to say "no" to the really loud crazy people. If you say "no" you could become a target. They might have to stand with people they don't identify with.
If you were raised in leftists areas then most of the people around you will be leftists. To say "no" to these people are say "I think there are only 2 genders" or "Drag is weird" would get you exiled from most of your "friends" and family.
Although my parents became staunch conservative later in life, I grew up in a very liberal area. For the most part you could disagree on politics with liberals. Or it appeared that way. Things got cult-like when Obama came on the scene. Then people I thought were reasonable became fanatical followers of him. Suddenly you were "evil" if you didn't fall in line.
Luckily my family went conservative in response to the madness. A lot are still trapped in these circles and terrified to speak out against it.
As I am older I am not afraid to speak up, but when you are young it can be a lot harder. You lose all your social circles. Social media amplified the risk by a 100 fold.
Many liberals do find it disturbing, but don't dare say anything. They fear the retribution.
Lesbians who spoke out against transgenderism are now labeled "TERFS" and called the "Enemy" by what was formerly their "community". That's how crazy it is. It's a cult. You don't question the cult or else...
That's probably the best answer I've heard so far.
If they weren't causing so much damn damage you could almost feel sorry for the fools.
So desperately wanting to belong, so desperately wanting to believe in themselves, without having earned the right of true pride.
The kind of pride you earn from self accomplishments and learned abilities and skills from doing, working, building, striving to be the best you can be.
The kind of achievement far removed from animalistic desires of sexuality or sexual anatomy, the lowest common denominator of life's most simplest form.
These things are nothing,
they know nothing,
they have accomplish nothing,
they offer nothing...
And yet they demand we celebrate their nothingness...

Fuckin' Obammy...
If I had a son. I remember when he said that. I thought to myself... things are going to be really different, really soon.

Pitiful, Pathetic, Miserable, Wretched, Fools.
Well said.
And... "they demand we celebrate their nothingness..." That's a great book title. I look forward to reading it after you write it : )
