As you look around does anything resemble the original intent of the founders? Our 2nd Amendment says shall not infringe yet they have.
I’m not trying to be dense, but how have they infringed? Gun ownership is at an all-time high in American history. More states than ever have enacted extremely generous concealed and open carry laws. The Heller decision from SCOTUS in 2008 did more to recognize the 2nd amendment than any previous legal event in the past 50 years. We’re winning in a big way on 2A issues. How does that not resemble the intent of our founders?
Even more so, just because the other side doesn’t honor the Constitution, why does that mean we shouldn’t?
Headed in the right direction?, yes. Are we where our founding fathers wanted us to be?, no.
Can you buy a full auto rifle made in 2021? No. Only pre 198_ (I forget the specific year). That’s already a severe limitation. Not owning a gun with a capacity of X or greater (state by state basis), WTF 🤬.
Not able to open carry in every state, not able to conceal carry in every state (without a “permit”). It’s sad that there’s a thing called constitutional carry and it is not nationwide (the second part is the sad part).
Can you shoot your gun in a safe manner? Maybe. The laws on where and when you can shoot are so strict that people who own a gun can scarcely practice. Unless they live in the countryside. Even when you do, people can easily call the cops on you, and you must prove innocence, not in accordance with the constitution and constitutional law.
