I'm going to try acupuncture today for the first time. My eye has been twitching for over a week, which I thought was due to lack of sleep or having stress, and my neck and head are giving me a lot of pain on my right side (where it's normally affected). What should I expect?
I had acupuncture today too! I hope yours went well. I always feel a “high” after treatment. Extremely relaxed. I cannot recommend it enough. I usually go once a month. Lately it’s been once a week.
Edit: I continued reading and saw you responded after going. You could experience a detox. That could be why some people don’t care for it. Give it another try. I finally got my dad to go after many year of debilitating back problems. He used to think it wouldn’t do anything for him due to his severity. He loves it. He wishes he found it 20 years ago.
I definitely think mine helped, but I couldn't fully relax and enjoy it because of my head pain (which I'm thinking is due moreso to my TMJ than my bulging discs) and my son was there, kind of bored. I will definitely try it again. The needles were nothing, painwise. I did feel a release and that feels so good!
I went with my children, once...made a huge difference when I went without them. 😂
EYE TWITCHING is a sign of LACK OF POTASSIUM....get some bananas or take some electrolytes....it will solve the issue...
Thank you! I make a protein shake with one. Maybe it will help my headache right now, too.
I had it once. I’d been going to a chiro for months and he also did acupuncture so I gave it a try. In all honesty- I found it relaxing but didn’t help pain. He suggested I go weekly and at $45 a session, it didn’t seem worth it. I can relax with music.
I don’t want to go into all my medical stuff but chronic pain was a thing until I cut out carbs, gluten and sugar. It was like the clouds cleared away and the pain was gone after about a week. I had muscle twitches and spasms and that’s mostly gone. No gluten, no beer, no fructose, no processed food. Look into your magnesium level. You could be deficient. Not to be a downer about acupuncture because I know it does work for some but I didn’t find it very useful.
It helped me. But I do know I feel much better when I cut out sugar. I've added it back lately. I need to get rid of it again. She treated my TMJ and the neck and right arm. It's pretty nice, but it's costly!
I will see what happens later and tomorrow. So far, so good.
Hopefully, good results. May be I make a suggestion? A good, firm rub for your shoulders and neck. Then, try to pull up on your head evenly with both hands and hold it. Relax and breathe slowly. Sometimes it will click intro place and the tension literally melts away. I’ve noticed that setting my head/neck straight with my pillows at night helps, too. I use several pillows to prop different points on my body to make my spine straight. It all counts. Roll ‘no’ Go My Pillows work great for under my hip and between my chest. The spread at the chest area helps make room for your neck to go back into place.
I have tried traction before and it helped. I have my husband pull my neck and it has done some good as well.
Thank you so much for your help!
God bless you and I hope this acupuncture works.
