What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
I started being a carnivore 3 weeks ago, right now I am strictly eating red meat thats grass fed. (little bit of bacon) as I lose weight and get metabolically healthy again i will start adding more meats and some dairy like cheese. In 3 weeks, I lost 12lbs, I got off my blood pressure meds, now 118/72 on average, My thyroid is now starting to function properly, and my snoring went away. So far this has been amazing. I eat 2 meals a day, usually lunch is 4 eggs, 3 bacon. and for dinner is a 1lb steak. i am stuffed and only consuming 1600 calories on average which is crazy since im never hungry.
I find it amazing when I hear people say this. We have been lead to so many fake beliefs by the so called science. Personally, I would love to do this, but my gout makes it impossible to eat too much red meat (I am still researching into this, I am not sure if this connection is fake as well).
I realised that all the times I did dieting, the only time I saw very drastic improvement was when I cut sugars off and started eating moderate sized meals.
Sugars and seed oils are probably the biggest reason people end up unhealthy and die. Cant wait for the food pyramid to turn upside down.
"Sugars and seed oils " < Exactly! I would add root veggies are probably not all that good. But leafy greens are okay as long as you start with just meat, later you can add one leafy green at a time and see if anything happens, plants have a bunch of crap sprayed on it, and also has a lot of hormones within it that causes many people to have issues. I am in touch with a metabolic doctor and doing a 6-week program with him, its possible that you can't have a lot of red meat, some people do better on fatty fish, but i would talk to a metabolic doctor that does keto/carnivore. What's also cool is that keto/carnivore kills and starves cancer! Cancer uses sugar for atp and doesn't have the ability to use ketones.
Yeah, and also helps boost the innate immune system. I still wonder if Atkins, who started the Keto craze, died of natural causes or was taken out.
I am not fully convinced about the gout and meat, the only reason I am trying that first (reducing meat) is because its also the recommended treatment in Ayurvedic scriptures as well. However, I did find out that there is something in the meat (forgot the name) that helps Liver do its job, and not having enough of that will cause some imbalance causing excess uric acid in the blood - leading to gout.
Its crazy that the modern medicine spends no time researching and figuring out these things, instead just blindly use petro-chemicals and see what sticks.
Yeah, my PCP doctor told me to get on the DASH diet and was going to add more meds. Basically High carb, low protein, low salt. And instead, I went on high protein, high salt, and low/0 carb which reversed all health issues in less than 2 weeks.
If you are doing keto and staying away from inflammatory plants, it should help with gout!
Unlike vegans who have blinders on, and everyone must adhere to strict veganism (and take a million supplements because we need meat) I along with many carnivores just are trying to rediscover the PROPER human diet. We know all meat doesn't work for everyone, but most people could benefit from it, if not that, then at least keto.
I love hearing of these successes. Especially in light of the Food Pyramid being fed to me nearly all my life. Keto seems to be the key for me. I so wish I had known of this 30 years ago. Life would have been much more enjoyable.
yeah! carnivore is a subset of keto, I have issues with plants, they give me metabolic issues, so I start on carnivore, and then slowly add more plant keto foods and check if it is giving me issues, that way i know what my can handle.
