THe JWs may have their own interpretations, but the number is strictly biblical:
Revelations 14:1-3 Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father’s name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. Personally, I believe this number is symbolic, and not literal, and that it refers to saints and believers who are in a position to respond to Christ when he returns, because of either their hearts or their spiritual foundation. Revelation is a highly symbolic scripture (IMO), and far too many folks try to interpret it literally. Largely because of a lack of understanding how spiritual visions work (which Rev is a description/record of) and how symbology works. But, that's mah view, anyhoo.
I think you and I discussed this some years back on Voat: The Q watch, an IWC Portugeiser, operates at a frequency of 28,800 vph. That number X 5 = 144,000. I'm not sure of the significance, just an interesting mathematical coincidence. Again.

Although, when it comes to the Creator's work, "there are no coincidences". the entire mathematical construct of the whole universe is incredibly, supernaturally precise, because God himself is a mathematical being. But I agree with you inasmuch as I don't know the significance of the co-incidence. I'd ask Tesla, but I haven't seen him for ages....
