Here is the kicker
Marsha Blackburn??? I am shocked.
Feinstein?
And my state's biggest embarrassment John Cornyn??
One of a few really. We also have Eye-patch McCain, and Sheila Jackson Lee among others.
I write to him religiously every week to remind him how ashamed I am to have voted for him. He is a piece of shit. I should have voted for the commie who ran against him - at least I knew where she stood on things.
I don't think this will hurt her election campaign, which isn't until 2025. I think most people wouldn't disagree that this is a good idea. I'm more shocked the sniffer signed it
I actually misread what was said. This is a good thing and I am glad Blackburn introduced it. What is crazy are some of the others who signed it. Sorry I guess my brain wasn't working right. When older people prey on children it is so hard to prove so I hope this helps.
The thing I want to know is if there's a statute of limitations criminally, as this only removes the civil statute. I'm scared to google it, lol
why?
Maybe to help pay for therapy and counseling. Abused children have to come to terms with the abuse at some point and it really takes a lot of time, effort and money to deal with the aftermath. Healing can be a very long and complicated journey.
When any Dimwits sign on to anything opposed to pedophilia like Feinstein, it should make everyone suspicious that there's some type of deceit behind it.
It appears the removal of the existing limitation of the age of 28 means that this will plausibly be used to go after political candidates, politicians, and other public figures. I can possibly see this new law being abused for political purposes.
Will Trump all of a sudden see a new round of 'paid' accusers? Remember AL Roy Moore and the public accusations that destroyed his campaign and life. He eventually won a defamation lawsuit. The damage there is forever and too late for him though.
It's sad when a person down-votes and isn't brave enough to state why. For the life of me, I don't know why I was down-voted. There exists a missed opportunity for the individual to present their position. How sad. .As a personal rule, I will never name call, nor will I down-vote anyone. I'll only seek to understand the other person's thesis and position. I may disagree, but I will always respect the other person's position. In the end, we must always remember the purpose of GAW is being an active part to the Great Awakening. As an avid reader of the posts here on GAW, it is from these differing views that I have learned so much. An individual's posting and their thoughts is what truly inspires me. As a retiree, I thank God everyday that so many people here help me to learn more. I've said this before and I'll state it again-- I could have a thousand academic degrees, but the sum of all these don't equate to the thoughts and writings I have found here at GAW. This individual missed a great opportunity here and down-voted without leaving a comment. There's nothing I wrote above that I can tell isn't true. The Demwits most certainly abuse laws for their political advantage. We are witness to our former President's MAL home being raided. Paul Manafort being imprisoned for what Senator Orin Hatch called an [DOJ]" overreach" in violating the Foreign Agent Registration Act, and the list goes on and on. It is plausible to expect this new law will be a 2-edged sword. It can cut both ways, one side for the truth, and the other for political motivation. We have already observed this with the lawfare on Trump. It is quixotic to believe in the current 'world' we live that this law will be used only as it was intended.
I appreciate you thoughtful input. You expressed clearly why there could be concern over the mixed bag of lawmakers supporting this bill. I agree there are people that use and abuse laws for their own personal/political gain. Why should these laws be any different? It appears that most lawmakers pass laws for many more reasons than "for the people". Our government and judiciary are rotten from top to bottom but thankfully there are still exceptions that govern for the people who elected them.
People could always ACCUSE someone in the media, but in court it’s a different story. This is a win for survivors of abuse.
If anything the Senators were probably blackmailed into signing this. Maybe there are some good guys on the inside.
I wish you were right, but the the precedent and numerous studies showing erroneous court rulings all indicate otherwise. The courts do not provide justice. It provides "just us". It is quixotic to believe the courts there is equal justice or fairness in the courts.
