I know a conservative who's leery of DeSantis because his time in Congress probably means he's swamp (very well could be).
And then there's this from the article: Despite seven governors rejecting COVID lockdowns, it was DeSantis alone as the model for COVID response, even though DeSantis did issue lockdowns. Despite seven governors banning indoctrination in the classroom, DeSantis received the bulk of the airtime with a phony “Don’t Say Gay” campaign. Despite abortion being all but banned in twelve conservative states, the best DeSantis mustered was fifteen weeks. I’m a little worried about him. Especially after finding out he has jars of sand in his office. The sand is from different locations in Israel. Why? Who’s soil does he stand for? Also I have tracked some Israeli military planes in Florida and I still don’t have an answer for that. If he goes against trump in 24 then he is 100% a goy plant.

Short Version...I read about him having gone to the wrong school, Yale 98-01 being upset with and thinks Trump is a terrible politician, wants to make some hay about Trumps vaccine record.
Always a RINO...talks tough but pulls punches.
He is no real ally at all...and he's grandstanding for a job he won't get I think.

While at Yale, Ron was in the frat that both Bush Presidents had belonged to when they went to Yale.
Fwiw I did a minor dig around Ron being Skull and Bones. My take away was its doubtful.
Why? Because Rons rep was a not very bright, jock frat boy from Florida. S&B only takes 15 members per year and has a rep for being austere and intellectually severe. Not Rons thing. He was a fun and sun guy.
As an aside, who was part of the early, obviously orchestrated, Ron 2024 hype? Fellow Harvard law school grad and passive aggressive Trump disdaining Establishment CONservative Inc mouthpiece, Benji Shapiro. Benjis enlisted Daily Wire and Breitbart allies to help him hype Florida Ron and suppress news about what other states and governors are doing.
Openly anti Trump National Review bros were in on the scheme but are being covert so as to not tip off MAGA around their true motivations. They're letting the CONservative wolves wearing MAGA camo handle things. For now.
They view Youngkin as their anti Trump backup candidate if Ron doesn't pan out.
Bottom line, all they really care about is getting rid of Trump so they can coopt a leaderless and still young MAGA Movement like they coopted the Tea Party Movement that never had a national leader and guardian.
