Governments, on their own, are never to be trusted. OUR Republic was fashioned in such a way that an educated, awake, informed, extremely watchful, properly "armed" people with their rightful responsibilities and duties and participating would be in their rightful positions OVER all levels of government. That we are not so and have not been--almost since our beginnings--is where we went off the rails.....that, and turning our faces from God, forgetting Him, ignoring Him. And yet, He blessed our country for many years...
