Remember when "THEY" told us not to eat certain foods... only to find out "THEY" were wrong?
They preached for years not to eat eggs, bacon, chocolate, coffee, alcohol, sugar, coconut oil, whole milk, potatoes, pasta, bread, red meat, etc... and after panicking the population for a while, it turns out "THEY" were wrong.
Stop listening to "THEM". Listen to your own body and the nutrition that it wants. Make smart choices, eat a variety, choose whole grain or multi-grain or unrefined wherever possible and simply don't over-indulge.
"THEY" are telling you not to eat white rice, which is fine if eaten in moderation like anything else. White rice began being produced in the 1800s, after the milling machine was invented to remove the bran layer without damaging the rest of the grain. Keep White Rice in your survival food supply. It stores well and lasts almost indefinitely if packaged right. Brown rice and wild rice doesn't store as long and is more susceptible to spoiling. Brown rice is more nutritious and is a better option for everyday diet. Just remember to eat a variety, mix in vegetables and don't over-do it on any one food. Never listen to "THEM". THEY aren't interested in your health, obviously.
Each time I was pregnant I CRAVED Brussels sprouts. Couldn’t figure out why because at that time in my life I didn’t particularly like them. But guess what, they are one of the highest foods to supply folic acid which is crucial to fetal development. Your body will tell you what it needs if you listen too it.
BSTAA! When they started in on eggs, I was telling everyone who would listen that cutting back is one thing (moderation), but cutting out all together was ridiculous! Ugh.
Like you said.. moderation!
My sister would make my recipe for chocolate chip cookies but mine were always better. Her family always wanted mine... turns out she was in the afraid of salt phase and wouldn't put in the whole 1/2 tsp the recipe called for! Ugh!
