I does look staged.
When these slapnuts glue themselves to things, give them lots of coffee, bring in a tabletop waterfall and put the acetone just out of their reach.
It's pretty well known in the art industry (and it IS an industry just like oil), museums and other places that house art, like the Vatican, have made very convincing copies of the great works of art to put on public display, just because of crap like this. I recall a few decades ago the Vatican had "la pieta" marble statue by Michelangelo touring and some halfwit attacked it with a hammer....it was then revealed that the statue was a copy and that the real one was safe back at the Vatican. So I'll bet a cheeseburger (with fried onions and American cheese) that this Van Gogh painting was a copy.
It actually looks like it was behind glass and they just painted the glass.
Maybe they put out a fake and just said it was covered in glass bc they don’t want to alert the public that all the art they’re looking at isn’t real. It was back up 6 hours later. The museum claimed it was under glass. Oil paintings aren’t typically under glass. The Van Gogh’s at the Met weren’t pre-Covid.
Could be.
You don't normally put a piece of glass over a painting.
Just sayin'...
Correct! Oil paintings do not go behind glass. You can put watercolor or eve acrylic behind glass and not affect the painting. Oil paintings is a no-no.
The glass on the Van Gough is not touching the painting. It is a protective device.
There is a spacer so the painting can breathe.
They walk right up to the painting? No guards? No other viewers nearby? Looks fake AF.
You know how I know it's bullshit? It was covered in glass, no damage was done, yet the Fake Stream Media is giving it worldwide news coverage. It's not even news. Why would anyone care two people poured soup on some glass? It's not worth any coverage.
Called it. Nothing new.
Perhaps some “performance art” with a chainsaw would help sell tickets?
Would be great if they were just screened off.
leave them stuck to the wall and call it 'art'.
