Yes, I'm in the midlands in the UK. I'll report anything extra weird that happens here. Most people in the UK don't have the facility to burn firewood. Fireplaces are too small really and may have small gas fires screwed in front of them. Quite a few chimneys are blocked and out of use. We aren't used to open fires any more.
Some people with money are installing woodstoves, but there aren't enough installers and it's hard to find anyone to fit a woodstove. There are various government regulations around woodstoves, how they are fitted and what type you have to use in a smokeless zone so if you fitted your own woodstove and flue, you could be subject to fines.
We'll see how we manage. I expect people will wrap up in many layers and complain a lot and most people will be ok. I don't know how it will interact with the vax. cold weather increases heart attacks, strokes and viral illnesses.
People will get very miserable, especially if there are power cuts. It's dark here in the UK.
