if all you wanna do is live and work here, you can apply for what's called a work visa, and so long as you can keep a job, you can stay.
...If you want voting rights, you can move to cali or DC(not sure they'll get away with it...), or apply for citizenship...
We Poles had such possibility in Britain. It was however justified by the fact Britain was in EU then.After Brexit most of those who wanted to stay there (I have cousins there) had to apply for citizenship. Of course in UK too there were people who were essentially not citizens and staying there illegally. But:
The point is: such situation is COMPLETE MADNESS.
You have people not caring where they are,people not knowing too much about USA history,culture, sometimes even not knowing the language enough to be understood (ok,this is more about Mexicans). Even if they not vote they influence the society and thus - political process !
Ok,I am of course not American too,but the point is: all this foreigners not even know the American values,but even if they are not going to vote (it would be absolute disaster if they would vote) they badly influence the society around them by not respecting the values and the culture of place where they are !
Americans are maybe young nation,"nation of migrants" - but excuse me,but hello: there IS American society,there IS American culture,and there are definitely American values making your society great and unique.
Those stupid motherfuckers don't respect that.More. They attack some of your values simply because they are used to live otherwise and want to make USA kind of state they are used to. It endangers core of American idea: FREEDOM.

I wont lie, there's a lot of naivte to a lot of our laws, and a lot of bullshit that pretends to be compassion, but I think the original idea was to get specialized workers that might be hard to come by in the domestic market. (naturally, though, that was stretched well beyond it's original intent).

How does one get stable work, identification etc if on a visitors visa? I spent three months in the US on a travel visa, and to me it seemed like it would have been impossible to skirt around it even if I wanted to? That may just be because I respect your laws though...
