And I believe this was what the war in heaven was about when 1/3 of the hosts of heaven were cast down to earth with satan. Indeed, those spirits (demons) are on earth, Satan's realm for now, and imagine how many billions of spirits that is, if it was 1/3 of the spirits in heaven. They have the power to try and influence us, maybe even so much so that it is almost as if they are inhabiting some people. They remember who we were in heaven, they know us but we don't remember them. This is why we need to remain close to Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and the spirit so we can have discernment and protection.
And this is why we are tested on a daily basis and why daily prayer is needed. I learned this at a young age during Sunday school. But this sticks to my mind and it is even more obvious to me now that I am older.
