Not evil, but anxiety, low self esteem, and depression…. I used to be heavily working in the industry.
Not only that, but electronic music is HYPER sexualized. You ever been to a night club? Or any mega clubs like in Vegas, Miami, or Ibiza?
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a ton of fun, but I can tell you, it doesn’t contribute to self confidence or any real physical or emotional progress to a person
Neither does a rock concert, hell I did more damage following Widespread Panic (jam band) around then any other time in my life and they’re not promoting anything other than a good time “watching the sunnn shiiiine” ( :
I bet!
I’m trying to think about if I’ve ever been to one, for some reason I feel like I saw Danzig, maybe Pantera in the 90’s.
My wife loves screamo and she’s also on the worship team at our church, sooo there’s that (:
I like punk and and have seen quite a few shows, now THAT IS AN EXPERIENCE!
I’m 46 now with a wife, 3 daughter, 3 dogs and a cat. The money I use to spend traveling to shows has gone into audiophile stereo equipment playing lossless music. Although, we still like catching our favorite artist/DJ’s 4 or 5 times a year.
That song has an interesting background story. Stephen Tyler and Joe Perry were sitting at a table in a bar. Stephen saw a woman at the bar & told Perry, “Dude looks like a lady”. I heard that about a year ago on either the radio or YouTube. Don’t know if it’s true but most good songs come from life experiences.
House and electronic music doesn't push for violence or depravity like rap does though. How could EDM be used for evil?

Dude, heavy metal concerts are a real experience. Iron Maiden - Senjutsu - UBS Arena Elmont NY - 10/19/2022

**Rage Against the Machine isn’t heavy metal, but I’ve been to a lot of their shows and I’m betting it’s pretty close.
Would love to have been at this show! https://youtu.be/T4XuU2loLi4
Heavy metal has tons and tons of subgenres, hair metal unfortunately happens to be one of more popular ones.
Never got that till now.
Lola.
The Kinks.

Only argument I could see is some of the fans at raves doing party drugs but how many fans of that music even go to raves in the first place?
Lots, and yeah, LOTS OF MOLLY.
It’s definitely a hedonistic environment at an edm show, but that’s more about humans doing what humans do then a whole genre promoting it.
*hard for dj’s to promote it when there’s very little use of lyrics
The music is very repetitive and hypnotic, and there is a lot of a druggie culture that surrounds it.
