To be fair the vote was for GOP House Leadership, not for House Speaker. We have to have the majority before that can happen.

The reason for the rushed vote for McCarthy was to verify he was going to be the GOP House Leader BEFORE the ballot counting is done.

If McCarthy wasn't elected as GOP House Leader, they still have time to rig elections and make Republicans barely lose the House majority.

It's all a slimy swamp creature game.
