Honestly, I don't see the problem if I understand this correctly. The captain wanted to wear an armband that supports the LGBTQ+ community - but he wanted to wear it in a country known for having laws against homosexuality? Why would he even want to put that idea (if he even believes in it) in their face, so to speak? And besides that, why in the world does that 'community' have to constantly be babied and promoted? So you're gay? Whatever, shut up about it. People don't want to know because it grosses them out. Ball players should be playing ball, not making political statements - unless it's something extremely important.
Uh... FTA- English team captain wanted to wear the armband. Only didn't because FIFA has rules against it, and he would've gotten a yellow card each time he wore it. If the article is correct he caved, but then he caved again the other way. Not too heroic.
Going along to get along is pure cowardice in terms of anything that matters in life. However, during this war between good and evil - even small things matter.
Also keep in mind, there is a 2/3 vs 1/3 division amongst people. The 2/3 are the sheeple that don't think for themselves, and just look for leaders to follow. I really don't know if this is good or bad. It is what it is.
Only about 1/3 are independent and think for themselves. If those of us in that group of independent thinkers refused to comply with all aspects of the woke narratives and various forms of tyranny, two things would happen (at least here in the US).
the whole mass of woke narratives and agendas would collapse under the weight of their own stupidity and hypocrisy. The evil globalist cabal would dearly LOVE to be able to force people in the US to comply, but the 2nd amendment continues to prevent them from being able to do that.
FTA-

Quite right. People have to stop being cowards and frightened to go against the herd ..be yourself!! Say no!!

Ah so he's no longer so stunning and brave when the rulemakers are not encouraging it.
Exactly this ^^^
