What better way to earn loyalty from unsuspecting minds? His fight for children while seemingly honorable can still be a ruse and his fight for free speech is not so pure or genuine IMO. His past actions and current goals (mind control) have too much to answer for to think of him as anything more than controlled opposition. Twitter was a CIA asset from the start. I donβt think they just handed it over to some billionaire for cash.
I agree and up until a short time ago Elon was suckling at the governmentβs tit. All Iβm saying is recent events are not enough to show a trend. Critical thinking requires questioning everything while also relying on data and trends. You can be an idiot either way by believing anything or not trusting anything. All Iβm saying is the jury is still out on Muskβs altruism.
And "the jury" may never come in. That's the way it is with people. What is "altruism"? Is it a codified procedure or specification? Isn't it more what people do in a general sense with the means and patience and goodwill at their disposal, according to their lights? It's hard enough to judge sin, but harder yet to judge charity and mercy.
If we have to worry about Musk's altruism, we are blessed with no serious concerns. Is it "altruistic" that he provides us with a reliable and safe means of transportation into space? No, I don't think so. Is it any less beneficial to humanity?

"Question everything." And no good deed will go unsuspected of ulterior motives. The paranoid will necessarily live in a world of personal enemies.
