I used to work in IT/Software Development. There were usually hordes of these sales/marketing/manager types running around making powerpoints and wasting time in meetings, then when the meeting let out, they would run to the "go to guy" (usually me and people like me) who actually got stuff done, to insist on their new project.
If it was successful, they got accolades and bonuses. Our bonuses were measly compared to what they got. One of the myriad of reasons I left that industry. For instance, one time I made a bespoke customer management software for a business unit. Their "proposal" was basically, "Hey, we need a bespoke customer management software".
I designed the whole thing from the ground up, then built it. It was awesome. I got a $3k bonus, the managers got shares in the company.
You should have protected your IP better.
Killswitch 🤣
IT managers or managers from another department? The problem I always see is no one gives a shit about IT because it's not a revenue generating department. Even though IT makes possible what everyone else does all day, all the bonuses and attention go to people who bring in revenue/clients. Even though those people are quite often dimwits.
