People stupidly believe that the world is black and white and everyone in it is either their side or our side.
They can't even reconcile something like neuralink being a nerd's dream. And on that point, we probably want Elon to get there...as someone (Facebook?) already literally made a real life version of the Nerve Gear.
For those who aren't familiar, the Nerve Gear is from a Japanese light novel (and anime) called Sword Art Online.
What it does is, essentially, regulates your senses.. including pain. It also has a nifty feature that sends microwaves directly into your head to fry your brain.
"Wait", you say. "That's weeb shit, that ain't reality" you may assert.
Well, not anymore.

So, I'll say it: I would rather have Elon win the inevitable race to that technology, because if he doesn't, someone else far more malevolent will.
Not black and white... binary, (ones and zeros) at last from AI perspective... ultimately we are all just numbers to AI or more appropriately, switches that can be turned off (zeroed out, or set to null with no resource consumption)... The really scary part is all of the error-ridden computer models that the left stakes many of its claims on.. Climate Change, zero oil, polls.... garbage in- garbage out just think of AI making decisions based upon garbage data... now try and sleep at night.
Correct. I've seen some very expensive experiments with it reduced from "AI" to "machine learning" because the young people couldn't provide good enough input for it to do anything else. They did not train in the field they wanted to apply the computer to, so the computer symptoms were awful and caused decisions that lost money. Pattern recognition still depends on the priorities provided by humans, among other things, and the people behind the wheels of these projects just aren't good at this. Maybe we should be thankful for that
SAO was great, I can't understand the shit it gets.
It's because it's popular, and where popularity is, it becomes popular to hate.
Was it the best of all time? No. But it essentially spawned and refined a genre in such a way that even puts .Hack to shame.
Also, the animation remains great and even beyond that, the audio team did a fantastic job of building hype through sound, something that doesn't get a lot of appreciation.
I remain this forum's resident keto degenerate but dammit
Keto degenerate?
Degenerate weeb, and I end up talking about keto too much in very long, novel length posts about keto!
